When technology meets Intel and the industry

On October 19, 2016, Intel Driver Sharing Salon was held today. The theme of the event was “The NEXT: Technology × Automotive”. Intel for the first time systematically shared its forward-looking perspective and strategic layout in the driverless field. Yang Xu, Intel’s Global Vice President and President of China, described the future of driverlessness at Sharon, explained the unique advantages of Intel’s accelerated implementation of driverless driving, and placed high hopes on the development trend of China’s driverless market. Yang Xu believes that integrating technological innovation and user needs for effective integration will be the breakthrough point for the future development of unmanned vehicles.

The round table discussion, as the core link of the event, was hosted by Yang Jing, Founder of Xinzhiyuan, Song Jiqiang, President of Intel China Research Institute, Chen Wei, General Manager of Intel Internet of Things Division, Deng Zhidong, Professor of Tsinghua University, and General Manager of Addiction Communication. Chuang Jianwei, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of China Automotive Illustrated magazine, commented on the current status and future of driverless driving, and now shares the views of the guests at the roundtable discussions as follows:

Intel Global Vice President and President of China Yang Xu delivered a keynote speech

Driverlessness is the culmination of technology

On a technical level, what are the barriers to drone? Chen Wei thinks that there are two difficulties at present: First, the seamless integration of technologies, sensing, analysis, communications, deep learning, and more and more technologies are emerging, and they need to be integrated in the driverless area; In terms of deep learning, with the continuous improvement of computing power, how to make vehicles have human learning ability is a direction that needs to be worked hard.

Song Jiqiang also believes that the technology needs to be integrated. Artificial intelligence is used in the driverless field. Deep learning alone cannot solve all problems. For example, in driving safety, it must be 100% safe, and more boundary cases need to be considered. Other technologies are needed to cooperate. Both big data and small data are needed.

Deng Zhidong further believes that driverless driving is a new generation of information technology. As a vertical field or application field, it involves five dimensions: deep learning, data, computing, communication, and integration. It is the new generation of information. All of technology.
