Nintendo Announces Price Reduction of Wii to $150 from May 15th

In order to increase sales volume, Nintendo officially announced today that it will reduce the price of Wii consoles from May 15. Users can purchase a black or white version of the Wii for only $149.99. In addition, Nintendo also lowered the price of four games to $19.99.

The rumors of Wii's price cuts have continued for more than a month and have finally been officially confirmed. Wii consoles that sell at reduced prices also include a Wii motion-sensing remote, a Mario Kart game, and a black or white version of the steering wheel.

Nintendo also announced that the four games will be sold at a low price of US$19.99: Wii Sports, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing: City Folk, and Mario Super Sluggers.

Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo USA, also disclosed that the new Wii will be available as early as the second half of 2012.
