Fifteen old CPUs retired

After the release of Sandy Bridge, the popularity of Intel's 32nm process has also begun to increase dramatically. Many products of the 45nm generation face the fate of being eliminated.

According to Intel's recent launches, as many as 15 45nm Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo, and Pentium processors will all be discontinued and delisted. Specific models include (without labeling both boxed and bulk versions):

Core 2 Quad Q9650
Core 2 Quad Q9550
Core 2 Quad Q9550S
Core 2 Quad Q9505
Core 2 Quad Q9505S
Core 2 Quad Q9500
Core 2 Quad Q8400
Core 2 Quad Q8400S
Core 2 Quad Q8300

Core 2 Duo E8600
Core 2 Duo E8500
Core 2 Duo E8400 (box)
Core 2 Duo E7400 (box)

Pentium E6500 (box)
Pentium E5400

At the same time, there are also Nehalem architecture mid-range popular stars:

Core i5-750 (box)

Orders for the above products cannot be cancelled or returned after August 26th, 2011. The final shipment date is February 10, 2012, and the bulk version is until the supply stops. As a result, the 45nm Penryn architecture family will disappear and the Core 2 Quad/Duo series will fade out, leaving only a few entry-level Pentium models to support.

At the same time, there will be seven second-generation dual/single-core Itanium 2 9100 series (developed codenamed Montvale/Madison) that will be withdrawn from the historical stage at the end of October 2007:

Itanium 9150M
Itanium 9140M
Itanium 9150N
Itanium 9140N
Itanium 9130M
Itanium 9120N
Itanium 9110N

The order deadline is August 26, 2011, but the deadline for shipping will be until February 7, 2014.

Incidentally, the embedded versions of the Core 2 Duo E8400/E7400, Pentium E6500, and Core i5-750 are not affected and will continue to be available.
