Energy saving and emission reduction

Today, with the increasingly prominent energy and environmental issues, energy conservation and emission reduction in the industry has become very necessary and urgent. The LED lamp has more than 60% power saving compared with ordinary high-pressure sodium lamps, making the LED industry undoubtedly a hot spot in this era. Frankly speaking, the LED industry can still break through in the financial tsunami, which is inseparable from the government's vigorous advocacy of the LED energy-saving industry and the urgent need for energy-saving products. At the beginning of the interview, Li Xuliang gave such an opinion to the Information Times reporter.
According to the relevant data of the Guangdong Provincial Energy Conservation Office, taking 100,000 LED street lamps as an example, it is expected to save 136.6 million kilowatts of electricity and 45,000 tons of coal per year; reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by 10.66 tons and sulfur dioxide by 1,229 tons. At the same time, there are authoritative experts to estimate that there are about 200 million street lamps in China's road lighting, increasing by more than 10 million per year. If the high-power LED street lamp is used to complete the energy-saving renovation of the lamp, it can save 70 billion kWh of electricity per year, which is equivalent to the annual power generation of the Three Gorges Power Station.

Li Xuliang emphasized in the interview that enterprises must have their own independent intellectual property rights and core technologies in order to have the development potential, not to die in the middle, and the development of the entire industry.
According to the reporter, Li Xuliang, the company that Li Xuliang is in charge of, is very focused on technology research and development and technological innovation. In the past few years, the company has cooperated with many universities and colleges such as Tsinghua University, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Sun Yat-sen University through the combination of production, study and research. It has focused on the research and development of LED application technology and has more than 100 national invention and utility model patents. It is the first to achieve mass production in China and become one of the largest semiconductor lighting production bases in Asia. At the same time, looking at the development of the LED industry, scientific research and development and independent innovation are of great significance. After more than 30 years of development, China's LED industry has achieved independent production of devices, chips and epitaxial wafers. However, the production of self-produced LED chips and epitaxial wafers is still limited. The products are mainly medium and low-grade, and the scale of industrialization is small. Can only meet the domestic packaging enterprises demand 20% to 30%, most high-performance LED and power LED products are dependent on imports. Li Xuliang said: The reason why LED products have been unable to start home lighting on a large scale is largely affected by price. Most of the LED chips rely on imports, which is the key to the high price of LED lamps. Therefore, increasing the research and development of LED application technology, having its own core technology and achieving mass production is the most crucial step in the development of LED industry.
