According to official WeChat payment data, Japan’s peak daily transaction volume in June was 40 times the peak in January. In addition to launching a brand new overseas open platform, the WeChat payment team has also released the "WE Plan" cross-border payment product intelligence program, which increases the number of overseas merchants in terms of application opening, product opening, material support, marketing support, and technical support. The support of the service providers will better enable Chinese outbound tourists to enjoy the same "no cash" experience as at home.

It is noteworthy that, yesterday, Japan’s major supermarket chain Don Quijote officially launched the WeChat payment flagship store in Tokyo and Osaka, which is WeChat’s 100th Wechat payment flagship store in the world. It is understood that Don Quijote has already accessed WeChat in 37 stores in Japan including Shibuya and Shinjuku.
