It is reported that since the spring New Year's Day and the Spring Festival sales season, the average price of domestic LED TV market has fallen by more than one-third. Some product prices have even dropped by more than 40%. The price of 32-inch LED TVs has exceeded 5,000 yuan, and the price of 55-inch products has exceeded 15,000 yuan. At the same time, many manufacturers have also launched activities to buy big and send small. The continued decline in the price of LED TVs is based on the continuous decline in the price of LED backlight modules. According to a Displaysearch survey report, the price of a 40-inch LED backlight module in the fourth quarter of 2008 was more than $1,000, and its price has dropped to $436, and the price difference from the same size LCD module has dropped to $100. It is expected that by the end of 2010, the spread between the two parties will fall to less than $20. At the same time, the price of another mainstream 46-inch LED backlight module is compared with the traditional products. According to the analysis, the reason for the decline in the price of LED backlight modules mainly comes from two aspects. The first is the dilution effect of the increase in shipments on some costs; the other is the reduction in the cost of the products themselves. In 2009, the price of LED illuminators dropped by more than 60% compared with the price in early 2008, while the luminous efficiency and quality were constantly improving. This has led color TV companies to produce better quality backlight modules at lower prices and with fewer illuminators.

For the price trend of LED color TV in 2010, experts predict that the mainstream 42 and 40 inches will gradually move closer to the traditional light source products, and the price difference will be further reduced to less than 20%; the LCD of larger size products will not be as good as the 10,000 yuan era, and the price difference will remain at Three to five percent level.

LED color TV production capacity expanded rapidly in 2010

Under the expectation of a sharp drop in product prices, the industry has become optimistic about the accelerated popularity of LED TV in 2010.

According to LEDinside statistics, LED backlight TVs shipped about 3.5 million units last year, of which Samsung shipped more than 70% of the champions; the planned shipment of LED-backlit TVs in 2010 will reach 39 million units, of which Samsung is eager to have one. Tens of millions of shipments account for more than one-third of the global market. The shipment of another Korean company, LG, will also increase significantly to 5 million.

In the domestic market, the estimation of the development of LED TV is equally optimistic. According to the survey data of the Consumer Electronics Research Office of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, the consumption of LED TV in the domestic market in 2009 is close to 1 million units, which is only 5% of the total consumption of flat-panel TVs in the whole year. China's LED color TV industry chain is mature, brand attitudes are divided

In the face of the rapid outbreak of the LED color TV market, is the domestic color TV industry ready?

It is understood that consumers' preference for LED TVs is mainly due to the thin and light characteristics of LED TVs. The innovation achievements of domestic enterprises in this area even exceed the foreign brands. For example, Samsung's LED TV products average 29.9mm, Hisense's blue medium ultra-thin LED is only 16.5mm, Sharp's XS series is 22.8mm, LG's LH95 is 24.8mm, Changhong's 920 series is 18.8mm, Haier's T3 series 25.5mm, Tsinghua Tongfang's B90 series is 22mm.

In the upstream industry, the domestic LED backlight industry has already reached a certain scale, laying a foundation for the further development of domestic LED TV. In Shenzhen and the Pearl River Delta region, more than 700 LED companies have gathered, forming a relatively complete industrial chain, accounting for 44% of the national LED industry. At the same time, Hisense and Tongfang also have the independent technology and manufacturing capabilities of LED backlights. Skyworth, Konka, TCL and other companies have the manufacturing capabilities of LED backlight modules. It can be said that domestic LED color TV has a good foundation both at the product level and at the upstream industry level.

Although the rapid maturity of the LED color TV market has become an indisputable fact, it also shows that the company's pace is not the same. In the international market, Samsung shipped more than 70% of the champions in 2009, followed by Sharp and LG, which are close to 20% and close to 10%. The market concentration is very obvious. Although it is expected that the shipment of Taiwan's LED LCD TV market will explode in 2010, reaching 30% of the global market, Korean companies will still have a score of 40% or more.

From the perspective of brand, domestic Hisense and Skyworth have already made plans for the transformation of traditional TV to LED TV. Konka, TCL, Changhong and other brands are also actively following up, but a few brands such as Philips, Hitachi and Panasonic are still in LED TV products. The line is in a backward state.
