It is too early to talk about 3D stereo games

"Doom" and "Quake" are the creators of the two legends. ID Software Inc. does not seem to be upset about the rise of 3D stereo game technology this year. Todd Hollenshead, CEO of the company, said in an interview with European media recently that 3D technology must reduce platform costs as soon as possible to affect the gaming industry. Otherwise, there will not be too many game developers to adopt 3D stereo technology.

Todd Hollenshead said in the interview: "I have been promoting 3D technology. People have now found a way to make this technology less weird and make people think it is cool. We may indeed have come to such a turning point." He admitted that now 3D stereo technology can bring a good experience and enhance the authenticity of the display content, but it still makes people feel uncomfortable to wear special glasses.

"It takes two hours to watch the movie and I wear this kind of eyeglasses. I feel a bit uncomfortable. I feel very uncomfortable with my nose being paralyzed. If you have to wear 3D glasses while you are playing, head movement will make this kind of discomfort even more. Seriously, that's a big problem."

In addition to comfort issues, Todd Hollenshead believes that the biggest problem with 3D technology today is the price of 3D TVs and the lack of content. The audience can accept a movie ticket from a movie theater to watch a 3D movie, but it wouldn't be easy to spend a few thousand dollars to buy a 3D TV home: "3D TV is really too expensive. And even if you buy it home, there is Can so much 3D content be seen?"

From such a standpoint, it is difficult to expect Rage to support 3D next year.
